Aaron Copley made a significant career change when he recently joined the shipping and receiving department here at ZBAG. As he transitions from the food industry to the automotive industry, he’s getting acquainted with terms like ‘manual transmission,’ ‘front differential,’ and ‘transfer case.’
“I spent almost 19 years stocking groceries,” Aaron explained. “There, we would receive pallets of food, and here we receive pallets of parts. I’m able to apply some of that experience.” Aaron started out doing both receiving and shipping, along with building the various types of kits when he had time. After getting a general orientation, he is now specializing in receiving parts for ZBAG’s many products, from transfer cases to gasket kits.
“I like to go jogging, biking, fishing – I try to keep active,” Aaron said. “I used to run track in high school, so I’ll go for a run just for fun, four or five miles on a good day.” Biking is another option. Aaron enjoys the bike trails around Zumbrota as well as other trails in the area.
Fishing in the Zumbrota area is another favorite way to spend time. “I like to go to Lake Zumbro, or over to the Mississippi on the back channels,” Aaron remarked. “One weekend a year I go up north fishing with my family. We go for pan fish, bass, northern – and walleye if we’re lucky.”
Aaron comes to work each day with a positive attitude, and he’s eager to continue learning about receiving the numerous parts and components to the various units that are produced here at ZBAG, from transfer cases to front and rear differentials.
